Welfare Fund Eligibility Assistance for Active Participants

Local 78 Brothers and Sisters:

Due to the COVID-19 work reduction this past spring, the Mason Tenders’ District Council Welfare Fund is offering a one-time, up to 300 hours work credit—SOLELY for 2021 health coverage eligibility—to currently covered members.

Under this temporary rule, Local 78 members who are currently covered by the Fund but do not meet the eligibility requirement of 1,000 hours of work for health coverage in 2021 would be able to apply this credit to stay covered. In other words, if you only have 700 hours of work for the 2021 coverage eligibility period, this one-time, temporary credit would allow you to remain eligible for health coverage in 2021, despite not having the required 1,000 hours of credit.
